We swapped our hiking shoes for running shoes on August 8th to again be part of the Suva Marathon… the South Pacific’s greatest road race! Our vehicles buzzed up and down dropping off water and marshals, but this year we were excited to get a chance to run, and even more excited that women and men made the long journey down from Nubutautau to help with the set up and volunteer at one of the water stations on race day.
It was great to see so many people who’ve been out walking with us running the Suva streets of Suva and cheer them along.
Before the Nubutautau gang returned home, we were able to arrange a guided tour of the Fiji Musuem, with the display about Reverend Baker and his death in Nubutautau, drawing everyone’s attention.
Congratulations to everyone who took part in the marathon. We can’t wait until next year!
